A native of Virginia, Dr. Hill received his undergraduate degree in biology from Virginia Tech, his PhD in anatomy from the Medical College of Virginia, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia. After medical school, he obtained his general surgery training at the University of Kentucky and went on to complete a three-year plastic surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. At the time, this program was regarded as one of the foremost plastic surgery training programs in the world. After completing his plastic surgery residency in 1992, Dr. Hill moved to North Carolina and practiced solo privately until January 2007, when he relocated to Palm Desert, California, to continue his private practice.

CURRICULUM VITAE

In March of 2008, Dr. Hill joined the faculty of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University Health as an associate professor. In 2011, Dr. Hill became the program director of the plastic surgery residency and remained in this position until June 2021. Over his 10-year tenure at Loma Linda University, Dr. Hill has trained numerous plastic surgeons who have assumed leadership positions in plastic surgery throughout the country. Many of his trainees have gone on to establish successful aesthetic surgery practices in California.

Over the years as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Hill has handled a wide range of plastic surgery cases and has a wealth of experience in aesthetic plastic surgery. His current practice focuses on all types of facial aesthetic surgery, as well as aesthetic surgery of the breast and body. He has extensive experience with patients who have undergone bariatric surgery and desire various types of post-bariatric body contouring after massive weight loss. Over the years, Dr. Hill has also worked with fitness models and bodybuilders striving to achieve a more athletic physique they have been unable to achieve through diet and exercise alone. Today, Dr. Hill enjoys working with patients at Renuance Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa to help them achieve their goals.

Dr. Hill’s extensive background in both aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery allows him to care for patients with a wide range of goals. For Dr. Hill, every surgical recommendation begins with the same question: What is truly best for this patient? He maintains that patient health and well-being should always guide surgical decisions and that exceptional patient care begins long before the day of surgery. He believes the consultation is an opportunity to build a partnership with each patient by listening carefully and developing a shared vision for results. Dr. Hill’s approach always involves taking the time to understand each patient’s goals and motivations as well as their current health and medical history before making any recommendations. As a “doctor first,” Dr. Hill believes that the best surgical plan supports not only beautiful results, but the overall health and long-term interests of the individual.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hill has also witnessed the profound emotional impact plastic surgery can have—from facial rejuvenation patients to post-bariatric patients to breast cancer patients. He has seen firsthand how compassionate care can make a difference beyond the operating room. He believes listening, empathy, and genuine respect are just as important as technical expertise, if not more so, in helping patients throughout their surgical journey.
