He completed his distinguished plastic surgery training at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital, specializing in both aesthetic surgery and complex reconstructive microsurgery. His academic contributions include numerous research projects and articles published in world-renowned medical journals. He has also been recognized as one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons.
After training, Dr. Chung proudly served as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the U.S. Navy, bringing his skills to the front lines and providing reconstructive care to wounded heroes returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. He also participated in global humanitarian missions aboard U.S. Navy hospital ships, a deeply rewarding experience that brought smiles to the faces of underserved patients worldwide.

Dr. Chung’s training in plastic and complex reconstructive microsurgery serves as the foundation for his work as an aesthetic plastic surgeon today.
He is particularly passionate about advanced body contouring procedures that enhance natural contours by preserving, repositioning, or transferring a patient’s own tissue whenever possible. While implants and other medical devices remain excellent treatment options for many patients, Dr. Chung appreciates the opportunity to create beautiful, natural-looking results using a patient’s own tissue whenever appropriate.
One area that sets Dr. Chung apart is his ability to perform select procedures under local anesthesia for qualified candidates. Often referred to as awake procedures, these techniques allow appropriate candidates to undergo treatment without general anesthesia while remaining comfortable throughout the procedure. Depending on the procedure and the patient’s individual needs, this approach may offer benefits such as a faster recovery, reduced anesthesia exposure, and the ability to return home sooner.
