Michael E. Hill, MD, PhD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon. A native of Virginia, he received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Virginia Tech, his PhD in Anatomy from the Medical College of Virginia, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia. After medical school, he obtained his general surgery training at the University of Kentucky and went on to complete a three-year Plastic Surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. At the time, this program was regarded as one of the foremost plastic surgery training programs in the world. After completing his Plastic Surgery residency in 1992, Dr. Hill moved to North Carolina and was in solo private practice until January 2007, when he moved to Palm Desert, California, to continue his private practice.
Dr. Hill is a board-certified plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and has memberships in the following organizations:
In March of 2008, Dr. Hill joined the faculty of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University Health as an associate professor. In 2011, Dr. Hill became the program director of the plastic surgery residency and remained in this position until June 2021. Over his 10-year tenure at Loma Linda University, Dr. Hill has trained numerous plastic surgeons who have assumed leadership positions in plastic surgery throughout the country. Many of his trainees have gone on to establish successful practices in aesthetic surgery in California.
Throughout the years as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Hill has had a large breadth of plastic surgery cases and a wealth of experience in aesthetic plastic surgery. His current practice focus includes all types of facial aesthetic surgery as well as aesthetic surgery of the breast and body. He has extensive experience with patients who have undergone bariatric surgery and desire various types of post-bariatric body contouring after massive weight loss. Over the years, Dr. Hill has also had experience working with fitness models and bodybuilders striving to achieve a more athletic physique that they have been unable to obtain through diet and exercise.
